Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This policy explains how The Alpha 1 Company, Nigeria operates Safe Video Downloads and processes information when you use the service. For privacy enquiries, email support@alpha1.ng.
Information we process
- Video requests: the link you submit, its source platform, a job identifier, processing times, status, and technical error information. A successful request also produces a temporary video file and download link.
- Connection and usage information: your IP address, approximate country or region where available, page views, submitted jobs, delivery events, bytes transferred, and aggregate page-performance measurements. Where your browser supplies a referring website, we classify its domain as a traffic source, such as Google or ChatGPT; we do not store its full referral URL or search query. Performance reports include the public page path and loading/layout measurements without a separate visitor identifier. Approximate location comes from IP lookup or infrastructure-provided headers; we do not request GPS location.
- Support messages: your email address and whatever information you choose to send to support.
- Advertising information: when ads are enabled, Google and participating advertising providers may process device, browser, cookie, and interaction information as described below.
The public downloader does not require account registration and does not ask for your platform password or personal cookies. Administrative session files used to operate the service are separate from visitor requests.
Why we use this information
We use submitted links and temporary files to provide the download you requested, job records to recover interrupted processing, and connection information to limit abuse and diagnose failures. We use service analytics to understand demand and reliability. We use support correspondence to respond to enquiries and rights requests.
Where applicable, our basis for processing is providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in secure and reliable operation, consent for advertising or storage where required, or compliance with legal obligations. You can contact us to discuss the basis for a particular use of your information.
Temporary files, records, and retention
With the default configuration, download links expire 15 minutes after preparation. Videos are processed temporarily on the app server and may then be stored privately in DigitalOcean Spaces for delivery. Local processing copies are removed after a successful upload. Expired files are queued for automatic deletion; cleanup is retried if storage is temporarily unavailable. An active transfer may finish before cleanup. Completed, failed, or expired job records normally remain for one hour after processing; waiting jobs remain while queued. Actual download timing is shown with your result.
First-party IP analytics and recent event records are limited to a rolling period of up to 30 days and may be removed earlier to keep storage bounded. Aggregate counters may be retained longer. Server or reverse-proxy logs, support correspondence, and operational backups have separate retention needs; these are retained as needed for support, security, recovery, or legal obligations. Backup copies are not immediately erased when a live record expires.
We do not publish submitted video links or temporary downloads in a public catalogue. A temporary download link acts as an access credential: anyone who obtains it can access the file before expiry, so do not share it if you want to keep the transfer private.
Browser storage and Google advertising
The downloader uses your browser’s session storage to remember the most recent job’s status link in the current tab. This allows a refresh to resume checking the same job. It does not store the video file in session storage. Closing the tab or clearing site data removes this record, subject to your browser’s session-restoration behaviour.
Google AdSense may display advertisements on this site. Google and third-party advertising vendors may use cookies or other storage to serve, measure, and personalise ads based on visits to this and other sites. Information may be processed outside Nigeria by the relevant providers.
You can manage Google ad personalisation through My Ad Center and learn about Google’s use of data on partner sites at Google’s partner-site policy. For participating third-party vendors, visit industry advertising choices. Browser cookie settings can also restrict or delete storage; this may affect preferences and functionality.
Where a consent message is presented, use it to accept, decline, or manage advertising choices. Where available, “Privacy and cookie settings” lets you revisit those choices. Consent withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Sharing and security
Requests may be processed by our hosting and network providers, and the source platform receives the server’s request for the linked video. Advertising providers receive information through their own ad code when enabled. We may disclose necessary information to respond to lawful requests, investigate abuse, or protect rights. We do not offer submitted video links or first-party IP analytics for sale.
Access controls, restricted administrative endpoints, encrypted administrative cookie files, and expiring download links help protect the service. These measures cannot guarantee that every transmission or storage system is free from risk.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, or object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Send requests to support@alpha1.ng; we may verify your identity and explain any lawful limits on the request.
You may raise data-protection concerns with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or your relevant local authority. This service is not directed at children; parents or guardians can contact us about a child’s information.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the service or its data practices change. The date above identifies the current version.
