Copy existing text from a PDF

This tool reads the text already embedded in the document and separates selected pages with page headings. It is useful for reports and digitally generated PDFs. The extraction order can differ from the visual layout, especially in columns and tables.

Limits and supported inputs

This tool does not perform OCR. Scanned pages may contain no extractable text. Fonts with unusual character mappings can give incomplete results. Choose a PDF up to 20 MB and 500 pages; the text output is limited to 2 million characters.

Keep a copy of your original input and review the result before sharing it. Clearing the tool or leaving the page releases its working data; downloaded files remain on your device.
